ABOUT FHTC

The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti has decided to undertake “Functional tap Water Connection” in the year 2024 to provide an assessment of functionality of tap water connection of all districts and States of India.this survey aims to track the progress and conduct a functionality assessment of households as well as pivotal public infrastructures such as schools, Anganwadi centres, gram panchayat buildings, public health, and wellness centres. Through this assessment, the department seeks to drive meaningful improvements in water supply programs by conducting a thorough evaluation, engaging with the stakeholders for insights, and formulating actionable recommendations for enhanced functionality and efficiency.

To assess the functionality of household, tap connections/ public institution buildings, PWS schemes etc

To engage with Gram Panchayats or its sub-committees, District Water and Sanitation Mission, State Water and Sanitation Mission and solicit their feedback and Recommendations for improving the program implementation.

To suggest measures for mid-course correction for improvement in the functionality of household tap connections.
